Jean-Francois Houle, also known as JF, is a professional freestyle skier from Canada. He began skiing in 1991 on the slopes of the small ski resort of Stoneham, QC. Growing up in Drummondville, JF made regular trips to his parents' condo in Stoneham, which was a short 1 hour 45 minute drive away. He entered his first contest at the age of 14 and had his first win two years later at the Mondial Ericsson in Mont Tremblant. His first sponsors, Rossignol, Orage and Spy signed him almost immediately after his first victory.
JF Houle entered his first major competition in 2005 at the Orage Masters and began to make a name for himself on the international scene. Since then, JF has become a household name in international professional freestyle skiing. He has gone on to podium repeatedly in the international freestyle skiing arena. In 2007, JF place 3rd in the World Ski Invitational, Old Spice Big Air and Playstation Big Air. In 2008 alone, he won the World Ski Invitational Big Air, the US Open Slopestyle, and got 6th Place in the X-Games Slopestyle. In 2009, he took a victory in Slopestyle on the 2nd stop of the prestigious Dew Tour. In 2010, JF placed third in both the Austrian Open in Kaprun and in the Budapest Fridge Festival in Hungary. Already in 2011, he was chosen as one of three male athletes to represent Canada in Men's Slopestyle Skiing in the FIS World Championships in Deer Valley, Utah, and he won the Men's Ski Slopestyle at the 2011 Winter X Europe against the top freestyle skiers in the world.
In addition to phenomenal contest results, JF Houle has been on the cover of numerous international ski publications, including Freeskier Magazine in the USA, Skiing Magazine in Germany, Freerider Magazine in Italy, Skieur in France, and Mixel Nieve in Spain and has had feature stories and photos in several international ski publications.
